Bangkok Trip

Hey Peepz, guess I am too lazy to repost everything onto this blog. Guess I will just post a few more interesting photos here. As for those who are keen just simply click on my photolog at "Koptiams" ya~

Ok, for a start I spent around S$150 on the two way air tickets and airport taxes on this trip via Thai Air Asia and around S$50 on hotel accommodation at Mandarin hotel Bangkok with two days complimentary breakfast. Total expenses...haha for you guys to find out.

Alright, let's start ...

Posted by Hello

Taken with Baby onboard Air Asia towards Bangkok! 1045H(SIN). Look at my tired face!

Reached Thailand International Airport at 1200H(BKK). Met up with Ron's Thai friends and headed for Mandarin Hotel Bangkok, our accommodation for the trip. Taxi fare = 330 Baht.

Checked into our respective rooms and headed straight to the Chatuchak Weekend flea market via their underground train. MRTA if I'm not wrong. Journey took around 30-40 mins. Cost = 30 Baht.

And so we spent the whole afternoon at the Chatuchak. This reminds me of the Bugis Street in Singapore, but 10 times bigger I guess. Heard from Silvia that it's 28 football fields?

Anyway, it was too hot and crowded for me to enjoy shopping over there. Other than that, I spent the whole time looking for my sis's wooden handle and cloth with embroidery handbag. Finally found a similar one before we left the place. Still don't know whether is it the correct one. She will be coming over to my place to collect it. Hope it's correct and she pays me!!!

Thereafter, we headed back to Siam Square area for dinner. Must say I didn't really enjoy the dinner. It was spicy dishes all the way. Except maybe for one crab dish. But glad that the rest of the guys enjoyed the spicy dinner. Guess it's just me lah hor~ Lousy non-spice eater. Bleah~

We simply wandered around the Siam Square area, hoped to find some cheap goodies. But all we found were closed shops. Haha. Traffic was super congested and so we decided to take the skytrain then mrta back to Mandarin Hotel and called it the end of day 1.

0800H Breakfast at Mandarin. After filling our morning stomachs, we headed off to a super beautiful temple just beside our hotel.

Check out the golden tower of that temple! Impressive right!

Pretty Baby with a SHOOT BIRD EYE me!

Another great photo of the temple!

Front view of the hotel.

Taken at the entrance of the temple, with the holy elephant as our background.

Just a sidenote, after praying to all the Buddha statues there, all of us perspired like we just got caught in the rain! We were all drenched! What a horribly hot morning it was.

And so we headed for MBK centre. After we walked for like a good 1 km, we decided to take a cab down. Cost = 40 Baht. Oh BTW, the temple's name is Mahaputtharam Temple.

Check out this rubbish bin outside MBK centre. It's transparent! From my own analysis, I guess it's for security reasons. One can easily spot any strange unidentified immediately from outside. But as what Baby mentioned, the cons would be it's difficult to spot the rubbish bin, as it's small in size and transparent.

Guess what's this???

Posted by Hello

KFC lo!!!

So we spent the rest of the day in MBK. Bargained and rushed our way throughout the whole shopping centre. I spent a rough total of 300 dollars there!!! Reasonable consider I didn't spend much on my first day in Bangkok. But I am almost broke. Luckily I have my "personal" ATM with me =P

Drained and tired, we went back to hotel at around 1600H and took a nap before we set off for dinner at this seafood steamboat buffet opposite Asia Hotel.

cropped trees by the road! Posted by Hello

Check out these cropped trees I spotted along the road of Asia Hotel. Special right! Compare that with those old fashioned rain trees in Singapore...Yawn~

89 baht steamboat buffet!!! Posted by Hello

So here we are at the steamboat buffet. As you are right. The 89 Baht in the photo is the price for the buffet that we were going to eat. 89 Baht per person! UNLIMITED FREE FLOW BUFFET!

Here is how the steamboat buffet looks like! Posted by Hello

A closer look at the charcoal fired steamboat! Groove for the soup and the arc dome for the BBQing!

Check out the tall tower of beer between me and Baby! That's the 3L of beer that we guys ordered. Guess the price? 300+ Baht!!! That's dirt cheap for this impressive red tower of beer! I drank till I almost puke lah!

Boarded a taxi for patpong, our next destination. Cost = 50 Baht.

Fried Worms!!! Posted by Hello

Check out these fried worms! I must dare to eat these stuffs one of these days!

Walked around patpong for the rest of the evening. Nothing much other than pirated stuffs (again). Got a fake real leather DKNY wallet for Sinlong. Other than that...nothing really appealing. Followed one of those many "pimps" to their Thai girl show and ya...was quite bored and disgusted by the show. Cost = 200 Baht.

1200H(SIN). Sang Birthday Song to my Baby! It's her Birthday! =D

Shortly after, we made our way back to hotel...

in this! Yes! We SQUEEZED 6 persons in this TUT TUT!!! Yes! THIS BLOODY SMALL TUT TUT. It's a fantastic roller Costa ride tut tut ride on the road of Bangkok! We had fun in it! Bet the driver enjoyed too~ Haha

-End of day 2- Fruitful~

Day 3 0800H(BKK). Had our breakfast and waited for Ron's Thai friend. A different pair of friends this time. Ron told us that this particular rich Thai friend of his looks like xiaoyun, we were quite curious in anticipation of her appearance.

Posted by Hello
Just check out of our hotel. Bored waiting at the lobby for Ron's friends, Nuu and PooPieaw (small crab).

Ok, let's jump the sequence a bit. Here is a photo of how they look like.

This was taken when we were at the Bangkok Int Airport.
Nuu is the girl on the front right and Poo Pieaw is the girl on the front right. Nuu is the girl Ron said looks like XY! (for those who knows who)

Ok, back to where we jumped off. Nuu drove us all back to MBK part two with her Toyota Wish. Last heard, she has five cars in her family. What a rich girl! Although in her Uni uniform, can really tell that she's a rich man daughter from her assorted range of branded stuffs all over her.

As there are 6 of us, Silvia, Baby me and Poo Pieaw shared a cab down to Airport. Cost = 250 Baht.

Ouch! Kenna pinched by Baby in the cab!

Group photos with two new Thai friends! PooPieaw and Nuu! Keep an eye on this Nuu.(the girl on the front left) Posted by Hello

Finally, reached Bangkok International Airport. Took a group photo with our new Thai friends and had our lunch together at one of the airport's restaurant. This got to be the most expensive meal of our trip. Each dish cost around 250 Baht.

Bidded farewell with our two cute Thai friends. Had a great time dining with them and talking. Can sense a bit of unwillingness to part from each side. But we are running late for our flight...

Checked in at 1615H.It's also the start of another exciting adventure for my dear friend, QY. But I guess I will leave that for another day.

Time 1645H. On board the flight back to Singapore.

Nice window seat view =D Posted by Hello

Bored onboard, we chatted like never before and guessed the colour of M&M. Losers will eat the M&M!!! Childish or what right!

Landed Singapore at 2000H.

Without QY. BTW he has already sent out a block email to Eguanas. So I guess many would hear his adventure pretty soon! I want to hear about it too!

All in all, I truly enjoyed the trip. Made even more special that I can celebrate my Baby's birthday real time. Hopefully this will be the first of many trips with her!

Back from Bangkok!!!

Yo!!! Back from Bangkok!!! Woohooo~ Had lots fun there! Shopped like mad and now feeling broke and poor. Haha~

Sorting out my photos now. Will post them when it's done!

Anyway, just a joke to share with you guys!

This morning, while I was taking my food during breakfast. This Indian lady was asking the waitress which are the dishes that contain meat and diary contents. So she asked one by one. Pointing at the spagetthi, she asked if there's meat inside, follow by mash potato and vegetables. And so the waitress answered to her queries. With none of the above dishes containing any meat or diary products. She pointed to the scrambled egg and asked if there's any eggs inside!!! Ok, just when you thought this is COCK enough! She proceeded by asking if the hard-boiled eggs beside got EGGS!!!?!?!? WTH right! You must see the reaction of the waitress man! What a way to end off my stay in Mandarin Hotel.

Anyhow, there's another superbly interesting encounter regarding my dear friend QY. Want to know more? Guess you got to know him personally to find out what actually happened!

Alright that's all for now. Will post the pictures once it's done!
Cheers to Bangkok!

I Love Bangkok and the other B!

p/s: Singapore I still love you too! =D

Erratic temper!!!

Just did something horrible. Showed Baby attitude when she did nothing wrong just now. Now I feel so guilty! She's voiceless from her camp and got to experience my crazy moods.

Sighz.

I really got to control myself. When will I ever learn to do that.

Baby, I am sorry.

-guilty-
