OVER OVER OVER OVER OVER OVER!!!

Yesh! 6 OVERs for 6 finished modules for this semester! Yet another semester has passed and I survived or had I? Class and Exams are over but the results are not out yet...and I am trying to be positive.

Declared phantom at the start of the semester. I've dropped many things I wished to experience, for example, block head, JCRC and maybe some other things in hall. Yow was telling me not to regret my choice and to really work towards my goals. I hope I didn't. As of now, I didn't. I feel that Ron is really doing a good job if not a great one. Of course there is still room for improvement but ya there's always one. Other than that, I don't think I would be able to manage so many things with the amount of studies I need to do, not to say the difficulty of those blardy 3 MCs Engin Modules. Oh well, it's been a good semester for me. I would really like to thank my Hall friends for showing support to me and understanding my concern. Janice, Ron, Wilson, Yow, Mingui (think it's the first time I actually typed out your name) and Kendrick (yes full name again! :P) , THANK YOU ALL!!!

Baby you are not forgotten!

So let me brag to all of you what my Dearest Baby did for me during exams. She gave me encouragements, listened to me whine, withstanding my nonsenses, made drinks for me, sayang me, bought lunch and supper for me and lastly CLEANED MY ROOM for mE!!! Yes, I am going to get flamed by all of you. HOW COULD I LET MY GF CLEAN MY ROOM?!?!! That's just how good my Baby is and how pampered and spoilt I am by her already :D THANK YOU BABY! I LOVE YOU!!!

Ok, I've experienced some pretty funny encounters during the whole exams period. More like things that happened before every single papers.

1. DYNAMICS OF INTERPERSONAL EFFECTIVENESS

Before: Nothing happened. Added in for the sake of discussion below :P
Results: Ok lah. Arts module leh...

2. FLUIDS MECHANICS

Before: Saw someone that I shouldn't see or didn't want to see. The person got a new haircut...but ...
Results: I had a super BUANG paper. Praying not to dapao now...

3. MECHANICS OF MATERIALS

Before: Had a superb DREAM. :)
Results: Not bad paper. At least I could do all questions.

4. SENSORS

Before: Got locked of my KR HALL room. First time! Paid $2 to regain entry. DiU~
Results: Still ok lah. Could do most of the questions
.

5. THERMODYNAMICS

Before: My fighting fish died!!! Poor fish. Think it's my fault that it died...I am sorry fishy fishy...
Results: Could not do 1.5 questions. Hoping for the best
.

Many first time encounters during the whole exams period. Not a bad way to prepare for the papers.

Alright, guess I should end it off here. Gonna get some rest and play...haha not really in the mood to blog anyway. Anyway, BRO, my heart goes with you. I hope you didn't regret your choice. It's been a once in a lifetime experience for many and as what you told some of us before, some things can always find a new and better one. See you back soon ya. ENJOY YOURSELF!!!

Last of all. I LOVE MY BABY, JUNLI!

4 Cores to go...

Phew just done with my first paper. Dynamics of interpersonal communication. Paper was straight forward, the best of all it's open book. So there I was flipping through all the pages and wrote down whatever I thought was relevant to the case studies. As for the essay question, quite glad that Kel and I prepared past year papers, as there was this particular question that was similar to past years. Something about undergraduates' interpersonal relationship and how to improve it. Haha~ I am just hoping to get at least a B+ if not A for this module. Think it's one the only modules that I can do? But then again, maybe not. My writting skill is not that fantastic to score good grade, just pray that Vasoo is kind enough to award according to relevant points and not language.

Caught Chicken Little on PPLIVE just now. Oh ya, for those who still don't know what the hell PPLIVE is? Please go to this website, www.pplive.com and download the software and you will know what it is. Not right for me to explain much. :P

ORGANIC CHEM SUX!

Haha ok that was written by jL. She just finished her paper and popped by my room. Oh where was I...ok can't remember what I wanted to write. But anyway we headed for dinner with Ken, his gf and hantu at Clementi. jL went back home to laze around while I came back with Ken and Hantu to mug for the weekend.

Hmm... funny people left a tag... this is what the link shows...

Morning scrtchy-ga!
You've asked a good question.
We'd need additional information before we could venture an educated
comment for you. Chinese, as you may know, is a tonal language when
spoken, so the meaning of any word in Chinese depends on its tones
(your made up word has two syllables, which could be any combination
of at least four tones). In addition, there are many dialects spoken
in Chinese (Mandarin, Cantonese, etc) so it would depend on which
dialect this made up word is spoken in. One final complication is
there are several romanization systems used to transcribe the word
into an alphabet-type language. It can be difficult to know which
romanization system you have used. We might have better luck at
commenting on your question if you could submit an audio file (like a
.wav or .wma file) in which you or your Chiense friends say the word
several times.

hey scrtchy! I'm Chinese, from Singapore. Maybe I can help answer your question.
I've been reading that phrase to myself over and over, and thought to
myself, "What phrase sounds like that and has a possible bad(or
vulgar) meaning?".
Then a phrase came into my head. This connotations is not actually
Chinese, but a Chinese dialect (Hokkien). The correct pronounciation
is actually "chee bye", which means something vulgar.
We use this phrase alot here in Singapore, and this phrase refers to a
women's private part. So when you hear a Chinese scolding someone else
with this phrase, he/she is actually swearing by a women's private
part.

Subject: Re: Chinese language From: ldcloud-ga on 03 Nov 2005 12:13 PST

I don't think the comment of kl1985 is correct. As a Chinese, I think
I can explain correctly to you. "geeba" is a vulgara word in Chinese.
It means the dick or penis in English, not the women's private part.
That is a dirty word, same as say "dick" to others. That's all. No
more meaning.

Subject: Re: Chinese language From: nizhongmin-ga on 07 Nov 2005 05:20 PST

okay.erm ,first i think i can answer you .
i am from China ,the southern China
and it means "dick"...thats all

oh... so it isn't Hokkien dialect eh? my mistake.. heh :D

ROY KEANE

Keane leaves Manchester United

Roy Keane has sensationally left Manchester United by mutual consent, the club announced today.

A statement released by the Old Trafford outfit confirmed that their long-serving captain has departed with immediate effect after it became clear that his future at the club was untenable.
The 34-year-old's representative Michael Kennedy met United chief executive David Gill at Old Trafford to thrash out details of Keane's severance, completing one of the most dramatic departures Manchester United has ever known.
The announcement comes less than three weeks after Keane's amazing outburst at his team-mates during an MUTV interview so damning that it was deemed 'unbroadcastable'.
Sir Alex Ferguson was known to be furious at the timing and verocity of the personal attacks contained within the interview and publicly rebuked his skipper prior to the win over Chelsea on November 6.
Once the depth of Ferguson's feeling was known it became clear that Keane had no future at the club.
A previous offer for a testimonial in recognition of the Irishman's 12-and-a-half years at Old Trafford has been confirmed in writing but Keane will not be at the club in an official capacity if he decides to take the offer up.
'It has been a great honour and privilege to play for Manchester United for 12 years,' said Keane.
'Whilst it is a sad day for me to leave such a great club and manager I believe that the time has now come for me to move on.
'After so many years I will miss everyone at the club.'
Keane had already cast doubt over his long-term future at United earlier this season when, in a live phone-in, he said he believed that his current contract, which was due to expire at the end of this season, would be his last.
The statement astounded Ferguson and Gill who believed they had a verbal agreement in place to discuss the Cork-born star's future later in the year.
Almost immediately speculation surfaced that he would join Celtic in the summer, and in their official statement United have today made it clear that Keane is now free to sign 'a long-term deal with another club to enable him to secure his playing career beyond what would have been the end of his contract at United in the summer'.
While the relationship between Ferguson and Keane, which has proved to be such a bedrock of United's success down the years, has now been broken apparently beyond repair but the United manager, who breezed through this morning's media sessions without mentioning the dramatic developments about to unfold, was quick to pay tribute to Keane's contribution.
'Roy Keane has been a fantastic servant for Manchester United,' said Ferguson.
'The best midfield player in the world of his generation, he is already one of the great figures in our club's illustrious history.
'Roy has been central to the success of the club in the last 12 and a half years and everyone at Old Trafford wishes him well in the rest of his career and beyond.'
The last of Keane's 326 league appearances for United came at Anfield in September when he broke his foot late in the goalless draw with Liverpool.
The Irishman is thought to be close to a return to action although where it will be is now open to major debate.
Throughout his many triumphs at Old Trafford since his £3.75million arrival from Nottingham Forest in 1993 probably his greatest performance came in the Champions League semi-final second leg against Juventus in 1999 when he virtually singlehandedly rescued United from the brink of defeat to steer them into the final for the first time in 31 years.
His Herculean efforts came at a cost though as a booking picked up in the game meant he was suspended for the final, ensuring he missed United's greatest day in his time at the club.
'During my time at the club I have been fortunate to play alongside some of the best players in the game and in front of the best supporters in the world,' said Keane.
'At all times I have endeavoured to do my best for the management and the team.'
Never one to hold back when he felt standards were slipping Keane's frustration at United's current fall from grace has been evident for a while.
His annoyance is made worse by the knowledge he is no longer capable of rousing the Red Devils as he has done so often in the past.
Although many of United's fans were in agreement with his damning assessment of the current side's qualities, most would also acknowledge his direct criticism of individual players crossed the boundaries of acceptability.
It was left to Gill to administer the last rites on Keane's time at the club.
'Roy has been a towering figure at the club for over a decade,' said Gill.
'His dedication, talent and leadership have been qualities that have marked him out as one of the true greats.
'On behalf of everyone at the club we wish him every success in his future career.'

Who replaces Roy Keane?Roy Keane's exit from Manchester United sparks the question - who can replace the club's most successful captain?
• MICHAEL BALLACK: Different in style to Keane, but Ballack is Germany's best midfielder since Lothar Matthaus and would improve United. Sir Alex Ferguson may still need to find a ball-winning midfielder if he plumps for the Bayern Munich man. If the manager could nurture Paul Scholes into that role, then Ballack could take on the former England midfielder's attacking duties. Out of contract next summer, and potentially available for free.
• DIDIER ZOKORA: The St Etienne midfielder is a tough-tackling Ivory Coast international, thought of as one of the best midfielders in the French league. Expected to leave his present club before long, Zokora would be affordable and he has been compared favourably with the likes of Michael Essien in some quarters, but a relative lack of experience at the highest level counts against him.
• THOMAS GRAVESEN: It could be argued that Everton have not yet recovered from the shock of losing Gravesen to Real Madrid in January. Playing the same tigerish role as Keane has fulfilled so successfully, only Frank Lampard was matching Gravesen for consistency over the first half of last season. Vastly experienced and could certainly do Keane's job. Likely to be available, too, with the Brazilian influx at Madrid pushing him to the fringes.
• GENNARO GATTUSO: Amazing to think, as he enters a seventh year as an AC Milan regular, that some remain unconvinced by Gattuso. Reported to have admirers at Old Trafford, the Italian is cut from similar cloth to Keane and never shies a challenge. After a year with Rangers earlier in his career, Gattuso has hinted at wishing to return to British football.
• MANICHE: One of the stars of Porto's 2004 Champions League winning team, Maniche went on to further impress for Portugal at Euro 2004, but his move to Dynamo Moscow has been a disaster. 'I am not well, nor is my family. I don't like the country, I don't like the league and I don't like the weather,' he said prior to Portugal's World Cup qualifier against the Russians, infuriating locals. If weather is an issue, Manchester might not be inviting, but Maniche is among Europe's finest.
• MAHAMADOU DIARRA: Lyon kept Diarra this summer but lost Michael Essien to Chelsea. Opinion was divided in France over which midfielder was the better. Just 24, the Malian began his career aged 18 with Crete before spending three years at Vitesse Arnhem in Holland. Claims to have turned down Arsenal and Inter Milan during the summer.
• STEVEN GERRARD: Liverpool's captain refused the chance to join Chelsea this summer, and it was the allure of the club he grew up supporting which convinced him to stay. A move to Old Trafford is highly unlikely given his allegiance, even though he would be the ready-made replacement for Keane.

CORNfidence!

Why is it so that I still don't feel the confidence which I desperately need before exams? I've been studying for quite a bit now but I still lack the key element which is so essential for students! I need to find it, I need to get it, I must fight for it! I can't afford to drop further...

The more I study, the greater the fear. The fear that output may not be equals to input again. POOR Efficiency (= Desired output/ Required input).

To top it off, my mood has been getting erratic again. Apologies to all my friends who haven't seen me around, but I am really in a struggle. Internal struggle with my fears and restlessness.

Praying...

Against the Odds!

Woohoo~ SO Manchester United Football Club won the the tie against the Champions Chelsea. Sort of expected that. I was still figuring out how was Man Utd going to find the goal agaisnt Chelsea yesterday morning when I was out with Ken. But such things do happen in football and in EPL. KeLong you may call it. It's always the unexpected that wins. Just look at Everton, Wigan... SO does that means the revival of MUFC? Far from it... Despite scoring, Fletcher is still not quite in the same league as the 1999 Becks, neither does Ronaldo possess the cutting quality of Giggs. Yes he has his flashy cross-overs...but come on I think any kids in Singapore can do those stances, it's the end product that counts! Yes as what soccernet puts it, only Park and Rooney are showing any forms of being Man Utd Legends, but they have to start winning games and titles! Not by just winning important matches, they have to win against lower teams such as Boro and Blackburn! Ok, all these are repetitions of what NEW PAPER and Soccernet reports on. Shall rest my case. In any case, I am still very much a Man Utd fan, maybe no longer die-heart but still with a burning heart~

Just taken my 50% Engine Visualisation and Modelling test in 25 mins! Yes a good 25 mins was given to decide our 50% of this module. 50 MCQs in 25 mins. It was like a game of speed. Even though it's an open book quiz, I can tell you that you better don't flip those pages, that's a trap to stop you from completing the quiz in time. I must say there is a great unfairness in this module. Students were given random questions, which meant that some would get easier questions than others, on top of that the normal time Designing tutorials marking scheme were erratic as well, some were being penalised for mistakes which were left unpunished for others. Oh well~ can only cross my fingers and legs(too pussy) and pray for good results.

Saw this lady, or should I say slut? at the bus stop earlier. Just when we were about to board the bus, she actually adjusted the top button and bra of her already low cut shirt right in front of me! OMFG. I don't know if that's on purpose or not. She better not. But in anycase, it's free show for us guys. SO there are women who love the attention of guys. Guys just need to pay more attention to them that's all ;)

p/s: jL, you are still sexier than that "slut" :)

Entropy in my Sleep

Entropy is the measure of disorder or randomness. I am experiencing high entropy in my sleep now. I am tired but I simply can't fall asleep. Even if I managed to, I would be having some weird dreams that totally tired me out. By the Second Law, entropy can only be created and not destroyed, so does that means that my sleeping entropy is going to be on the rising curve? OMG....

Think I am overdosed by thermodynamics. Unproductive. Spent the whole of yesterday covering 1 damn bloody mechanics question and 1 topic of thermo...ya...entropy...

Oh well...Blogging to pass the waiting time for breakfast. Read some people blogs...quite colourful and interesting, with tons of pictures. Too bad I am in hall, no access to my USB cable, if not I can post more pictures from my phone.

Anyway, I've managed to come up with the 3600 description of WHY I want to go SEP...more of jL helped me with that. What to do...I just suck in writting and languages. Thanks to all who bother to read all these broken language junks that I've been writting for the past half a year. It's really nice of you people :)

Yawn~ I want to sleep!!!

Competitive sports

I think I am not cut out to be a competitive player. Yes. A bit late in the realisation. I've been playing sports, both leisure and competitive for several years. Never have I been able to win something or achieve something in Team sports. Maybe I am not a team player or maybe I just don't have the extra cutting edge to be the winning factor for the team or whatever. In anycase, I feel I am getting old. Maybe not old and useless but defintely more and more injury prone and get tired more easily. I do enjoy helping players and guideing some of the younger players along, but I am extremely disappointed with my own poor performances. Especially so when I never seem to be doing the right thing. Guess my mental strenght is not strong enough to believe in myself and ignore others remarks. Too many remarks and tried to change too much always result in me being lost on the court. Ok, that's an excuse as some of you may say. Whatever~

I've put some comments across to the team during debrief just now, but I felt that I didn't manage to inspire the year 1s. Wanted to tell him to fight on and show their potentials...but I felt that the feeling they got from me was...this senior was trying to pet talk and comfort them. Bleah~ Ken did a better job anyway.

Man Utd. Yes, the team that disappointed me last weekend is going to play again tonight. Without the key players, the most senior players around would be Ruud, Silvestre, Rio...arh...hate to mention him. Being one of the best paid players in the squad, he has been making too much gross errors. 'Just because you are paid £120,000 a week and play well for 20 minutes against Tottenham, you think you are a superstar,' well said by Capt Keano.
I think Fergie should just drop him. And wait for some KOK team to buy him up. Maybe Real would do that, or even Chelsea. Man Utd should have sold him during the summer. Yucks. Another mistake by Fergie. Maybe Fergie himself should go. Together with the useless Scholes and the old Keane. Let Giggs stay another year maybe. He's still a joy to watch on the field.

A championship team has a pool of scoring midfielders. Even the Taxi Uncle can tell me the other day that Chelsea is not playing 4-5-1, they are actually playing 4-6! All their midfielders can score! That reminded me of the old Man Utd, when Becks, Giggs, Scholes and Keano are all scoring for fun. When Andy Cole can just bicycle from outside penalty box or do a one-two with Dwight Yorke. Just when they are off form, there were always Baby Face Assassin or OLD TEDDY TEDDY to count on. NOW? RUUD, ROONEY and....no one...

Having said those things...I am stubborn enough to want to watch how they fair against some KOK French team. Like what Yishu said, they should get a good trashing. Basu said, they had already got one from Boro. My reply? They should get another one. Just in case they thought it was just bad luck last weekend!
